Thanks to the hard work and dedication of Field Rep. Charles Kimball, Local 23 members working at Amstead Graphite in Northern West Virginia will see an increase of more than 6 percent in their total compensation package for their next four-year contract.
“It’s always a great day when we’re able to secure a win like this for our members,” said Kimball. “The members are working hard, and they deserve to be compensated appropriately, and that’s what the union does best: fights for its members. A special thank you to President Danny Musacchio and Secretary Treasurer Noah Carmichael for fighting tooth and nail for this contract. They took negotiations to the wire against contract expiration to secure that wage increase and our union is stronger for it.”

Local 23 Is Growing And Our Apprenticeship Program Is Ready To Train The Next Generation!
As you’ve seen in our weekly emails, we are continuing to bring on new signatory contractors, job sites are opening up as the weather warms, and more contractors than ever are looking for high-quality union bricklayers and craftworkers to get the job done right.
To meet this growing demand, our apprenticeship program is actively training new members right now and we are recruiting seasoned craftworkers to join our union. We have several training centers currently holding classes, giving new apprentices the opportunity to earn while they learn, build real skills, and start a strong career in the union trades.
We’re growing, and we need your help.
Do you have friends or family members who are interested in starting a career in the trades? Now is a great time to join. Encourage them to reach out to the union to learn more about our apprenticeship opportunities and how to get started.
As our union continues to grow, every member plays a role in building our strength. Together, we can bring more people into the trade, strengthen our workforce, and ensure more workers have access to the good wages, strong benefits, and job security that come with union membership.
Our training centers are open. Our contractors are hiring. Our future is growing.
Let’s keep building Local 23, one member at a time.
