When the Great Recession hit, union pension funds took a beating, including our own in Columbus and Akron. Most politicians gave working families little more than sympathy. Sherrod Brown gave us a fight.

He wrote the Butch Lewis Pension Relief Act to protect our pensions, and he kept pushing for years until it became law. Because of Sherrod, Local 23 members in Akron and Columbus can count on receiving every dollar they earned.

He stood with us. Now we’re standing with him. That’s why BAC Local 23 is working to send Sherrod Brown back to the Senate.

New Signatory Contractors Joining BAC!

Please welcome Owner and Estimator Charlie and Brandi Leaisure as they became Local 23’s newest Signatory Restoration Contractor on October 8!

They hit the ground running with several projects in the Tri-State Chapter including the Historic Coal Exchange Building in Downtown Huntington WV.  Both Charlie and Brandi are no stranger to the Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Union and IMI, and Charlie wanted to take it to the next level of Masonry Restoration and partner up with Local 23.  At the moment Advanced Masonry has 11 Union Members actively working and looking to add more to their Team.

BAC Local 23 also welcomed signatory contractor Mechanical Contracting Services, owner James Smith, earlier this month.
