Empowering the Next Generation of Women in Construction

On Tuesday, Brian Greynolds, Brian Collier, Nicole Ohmer, and instructors from the Northern Ohio Regional Training Center, Joshua Holland and Lou Feijoo, participated in the Let’s Build Career Camp in Youngstown, Ohio.
The camp provides young women (ages 12 to 17) with hands-on exposure to careers in the skilled construction trades. Participants had the opportunity to learn about apprenticeship programs, explore career pathways, and gain firsthand experience with the tools and techniques used by professional craftworkers.
“Our team was proud to represent BAC Local 23 and share the opportunities available through union apprenticeship training. Investing in programs like Let’s Build Career Camp helps introduce talented young women to rewarding careers that offer excellent wages, benefits, and opportunities for advancement,” said Brian Greynolds, Director of Apprenticeship & Training. “The future of our industry depends on creating opportunities for everyone to succeed, and we’re proud to be part of that mission.”

Wishing Matt Abril A Happy Retirement
After nearly 30 years as a union bricklayer, Field Representative Matt Abril is retired! Matt joined BAC in 1997 as a bricklayer and became a Field Rep. for the Northwest Ohio Chapter in May of 2016.
“Matt has always been a true representative for our union – hardworking, focused, and dedicated to serving Local 23 members. His lifelong service and work is a testament to all that our union stands for. You work hard, and then when the time comes you are able to retire and enjoy a new chapter in your life with a pension and security. We wish Matt the best in retirement and thank him for his decades of service!” said Local 23 President Danny Musacchio.
In his retirement Matt plans to enjoy traveling with his wife and spending as much time with his grandbabies as possible.
