The Local 23 NE Ohio Chapter, Youngstown and Canton, Tile, Marble, Terrazzo Negotiating Committee has just wrapped up negotiation of a five-year contract for TMT Zones 1 and 2 with great results.
Over the next five years, Zone 1 will see a $17 raise and Zone 2 will see a $22.47 raise!
Travel pay has been increased and a five-year total package wage increase for Zone 1 starting this year at $3.00 per hour plus $3.50 per hour each year for the following four years. Also, the disparity between the zones will be addressed over the next five years as Zone 2 will get $3.00 per hour this year and $4.50 in year two, $5.00 in year 3 three, $5.00 in year four and $4.97 in year five to equalize the total gross packages of both zones.
“This is an incredible win and a testament to the power of our union,” said Local 23 President Danny Musacchio. “Members in the Northeast Ohio region are now secured fair wages and benefits for years to come. That stability and guarantee of growth is something that only a union can bring. I’d like to thank all the dedicated Local 23 negotiators who worked hard to make this historic raise happen.”

Local 23 Constitution: Ballots due June 8
Members are voting on a new constitution and ballots are due by June 8! Don’t miss this chance to make your voice heard. We are asking that you vote YES for your constitution and here’s why:
This constitution has broad support and the process was transparent and inclusive
This constitution has strong support from members and leadership and was developed through an open, transparent, and inclusive process with input from all sides.
Majority of members will see lower dues
Dues decrease from 4.5 percent to 4.25 percent, which puts more money back in your pocket and this simple and uniform dues structure will replace the old system of dues, separate fees and funds.
Our union is stronger when members participate
This vote is not political. It is about how we run our union and securing a strong future for all members. When you vote YES, we build a stronger and more unified Local 23.
